How to wash and dry your lace and silk lingerie.
You have been dreaming of those beautiful pieces of silk lingerie for so long but just the ideas of how to keep them as beautiful as long as possible is making your doubt.
Taking care of lace and silk lingerie is not that difficult.
How do wash your high end lingerie?
You might have thought to just drop them in the washing machine and maybe you could but it would not be recommended for long life lingerie.
Lace and silk can be very delicate and if you wish to keep them as long as possible, handwash is the way to go.
With our busy life, you might think, what handwash! No time for that. But in true it doesn’t take long.
To wash you see-through lace bra and panties, just poor warm water (no too hot) into your bathroom sink. Add some gentle detergent or even some Marseille soap.
Gently scrub your lingerie pieces. And let it sit for half an hour in the bassin.
Then you just need to rince your lingerie with warm water and dry it gently by pressing it through 2 towels.
How to dry your silk and lace lingerie?
You just need to let it dry complety either on the towel or inside your house. Avoid direct sun on those lovely materials.
If your washing machine got a handwash cycle, you can use it too, placing your pieces of lingerie in a washing bag. Silk and lace can grab colours, so always separate the colours and the white.
Avoid to tumble dry as the lace and the silk of high-end lingerie could be damaged by the heat and the hard movement of the tumble dry.
Do I need to iron lingerie?
Lace lingerie set often doesn’t need to be ironed but sometimes silk could use a little press. To iron safely your delicate and sheer lingerie, please use a piece of fabric between your lingerie and the iron. It will preserve you for the risk of too hot iron and also avoiding leaving marks on the silk.
Set the temperature no higher than silk. If you found it the press if not working well on silk, just use the steam or spray water just a tiny bit. Ironing silk works much better when the silk is not fully dry.
So in summary, not too much trouble to keep your lace lingerie in good shape and enjoy their company for many years.
